About the event
LEONCE & LENA
A Story of Order
A special performance as part of the International Independent Theater Festival
The performance is in Turkish with English surtitles.
Kumpanya Performing Arts brings Georg Büchner’s classic Leonce & Lena to the stage through a modern, physical and absurd interpretation.
Trapped within order, habits, and everything that is “supposed to be,” the characters inhabit a world where everyone plays the role assigned to them, yet no one seems to be truly directing the game. Leonce and Lena attempt to escape a story that has already been written for them.
But are we really escaping the system itself, or simply our own role within it?
Who is playing, and who is being played?
Developed through the Kumpanya Performing Arts Acting Workshop and performed by the Kumpanya Ensemble, Leonce & Lena now meets its audience as part of the International Independent Theater Festival.
