Ben Deniz
Having premiered in Istanbul and subsequently been performed in various cities, with over 50 performances to its name, Ben Deniz is coming to Kumpanya Stage for its first performance in Amsterdam.

Deniz has been trying to come to terms with the trauma caused by her brother’s death ever since she was a child. She is running away from the city she lives in, from her mother, from getting close to people, and perhaps most of all, from her own mind. Whilst constantly keeping herself busy, her path crosses with various workshops.
As she rushes from one workshop to another, this quest gradually takes centre stage in her life. Eventually, she decides to resign from her job and open her own workshop. But this time, she is faced with another reality: she cannot afford the rent.
She finds the solution in organising a ‘support week’. The first event of the week is the Bendeniz Giray Show. Everything has been planned, the audience has arrived, and the show is about to begin. But that night, nothing goes as Deniz had planned. What’s more, that day marks the anniversary of her brother’s death.
BenDeniz invites the audience into a world where the boundary between fiction and reality gradually blurs from the very moment they enter the venue. This one-person play, in which humour, fragility, escapes and confrontations are intertwined, draws inspiration from the story of Atölye Pasaport.
